How to choose a lounge chair that lasts
5 November 2026

A lounge chair is the piece you will sit in every day, so it should feel good on the first evening and still feel good years later. Here is what to look at before you choose one.
Start with how you will use it
Reading corner, TV evenings or a quiet spot by the window? A deep, low seat suits long lounging, like the Vento Lounge Chair or the Marlow Lounge Chair. A slightly higher, upright seat is easier to get in and out of and works well in bedrooms and smaller living rooms, like the Alma Chair.
Measure the space first
Leave about 60–90 cm in front of the chair to walk past comfortably, and check the depth of the seat as well as the width. Every Casa Tierra piece is made to order, so if a chair is a little too deep or wide for your corner, we can adjust the size.
Look at the frame
The frame is what makes a chair last. Ours are built on solid wood, which keeps the chair stable and lets the grain show, as on the Senda Chair and The Tierra Chair.
Choose the right fabric
- Bouclé: soft, warm and textured, ideal indoors. See Nido and Arena.
- Woven cane: light and airy, with natural ventilation. See the Solen Chair.
- Handwoven rope: made for terraces and chalets. See the Loom Chair.
