Choosing the right wooden coffee table for your space
5 November 2026

The coffee table sits in the middle of everything: drinks, books, feet, conversations. The right one makes a living room work; the wrong size makes it feel cramped or empty.
Size: about two-thirds of the sofa
A coffee table roughly two-thirds the length of your sofa usually looks balanced. Leave around 40–45 cm between the sofa and the table so you can reach it and still walk past.
Height: close to the seat
A table at or slightly below the height of your sofa seat is the most comfortable to use.
Shape follows the room
- Rectangular suits long sofas and narrow rooms.
- Round or organic shapes soften square rooms and are easier to walk around. The Marmo Table has flowing, organic curves in solid wood.
Storage or open?
If the living room is also the family room, drawers help. The Sorel Table has woven cane drawers. If you want the room to feel lighter, choose an open design and add a side table next to a chair.
Wood or stone?
Solid wood feels warm and shows its grain; natural stone, like the Avela Table, feels grounded and sculptural. Mixing one wooden and one stone piece in the same room works beautifully.
Made to your size
Every table is made to order in our Cairo workshop, so length and height can be adjusted to your sofa. Delivery across Egypt takes 10–15 working days.
